What it does

Tamofy makes it fast to mark up screenshots and images - with arrows, readable text, highlights, drawings, counters, magnification, and pixelation.

macOS already does screenshots well. What it doesn't do is give you a quick way to explain what's in one. That's where Tamofy comes in.

Getting a picture in

Four ways, and none of them involve leaving what you were doing.

Capture a region with macOS's own screenshot shortcut, then bring it into a new window from anywhere - Tamofy doesn't need to be in front.

Marking it

Every tool is one key. No modifiers, no chords.

Arrow (A)

Point at what matters. Bend it around anything in the way.

Text (T)

Say it in words. Readable on any picture, at any angle.

Shape (S)

Box it, circle it, underline it. One key, four shapes - press again to cycle.

Draw (D)

Freehand, for what a shape won't say.

Highlight (H)

Make one line jump off the page. Marker stroke or straight band.

Number (N)

Turn a screenshot into steps. Drop pins 1, 2, 3 as you go.

Magnifier (M)

Show the detail without cropping the picture. Small differences become obvious.

Pixelate (P)

Blur what shouldn't leave the room - names, tokens, whole conversations.

Crop (C)

Cut to the point. Everything else stops competing for attention.

Constrain (⌃)

Angles snap, boxes square up, and a move locks to one axis.

Copy while dragging (⌥)

Drag out a duplicate and leave the original where it is.

Grab a mark (⌘)

Take hold of an existing mark while a pen is still in your hand.

Getting it out

Send the PNG, keep the document.

Drag it out

Drag the picture straight out of the window into a message, a document, or a folder. Nothing is written until the other side takes it.

Clipboard

A PNG on the clipboard, ready to paste wherever you were typing.

Export image

A PNG in your Pictures folder. Export As… asks where instead.

Save document

A .tamofy document, which reopens with every mark still selectable and movable - so the arrow you put in the wrong place is a drag away, not a redraw.

When you close it by mistake

Closing a window isn't a decision you have to get right.

Bring back the last canvas

Picture, marks, position and zoom intact - and it still knows the file it came from.

Languages

English, German, Chinese and Japanese out of the box. Missing yours? Get in touch.
